Halloween

I grew up NOT celebrating Halloween, but I decided I'm going to dress the boys up because it would be cute. Though it was a very nice day, I didn't take them trick-a-treating, instead we went to visit grandma Peggy at the school district. We were going to visit daddy too but the boys wouldn't last another trip.

Fast Forward

Wow~ It's been almost two months since mommy updated the blog. Many things have happened since the beginning of September.

We're cruising really well now. Micah loves to take 'a walk' with mommy around the house. Elias prefers to be held. We work our tears to get what we want. We play and chat together, but we also fight over toys.

We've also taken our first road trip ever! We crossed the border and went to Canada to visit our families. It was a long long ride to and back, but we did okay for the most part. Mommy and daddy made frequent stops, and we ate and played a little before strapping in again. Took us more than 13 hours, but we made it to Toronto in one shot! It was fun meeting everyone. All the food looked so yummy, but mommy said we're not old enough to eat grown up food yet.

Reaching Milestones

Nap time has somewhat restored to "normal" since yesterday. Thank God. They need their sleep!!! Their teeth are coming out fast. Elias has one tooth on the top and one tooth on the bottom now. Micah has both teeth on the bottom and one tooth on the top. They're just cut through so it's hard to get them in the pictures.

Elias is crawling when he finds enough motivations, otherwise, he just scoots himself around. From what I see, he uses the least amount of energy to do what he wants. haha~ smart or lazy? He's also standing up with support.

Micah has been standing (with help, of course) for awhile now, and he's trying to stand up by himself. He's also trying to walk the past couple days. His little face lights up whenever he's standing or walking. SO CUTE! I think he'll be a early walker like his mommy and aunt Janice =)

Teething

Micah is teething!!! The bottom teeth have cut out of his gum. My guess is that so is Elias. They're not napping well, and Elias is having baggies under his eyes. He is WAY too young to have baggies. Poor child.

They're cling, cranky and whiny. I practically was holding them all day long today. If you can use your imagination for a second, you can see how difficult of a time I was having trying to hold two teething babies who are also screaming in your ears.

Why Needs Toys...

when the babies prefer to play with the Kleenex box and paper towel roll? Because they will put anything into their mouths. They got no teeth yet, but somehow, they were able to "chew" the paper. NOOOOO~ My fingers reached in to take out any "chewed up" paper. I thought it would be fun to let them play "drum," but I guess they're still too young to play pretend.

Micah is Crawling!!!

A especial required by Uncle Y.K. (Here's your prove ;)

Living Room No More

Micah has started crawling last week. By the weekend, he is mastering the new found skill and crawling to places where is not safe for baby. I need to content that kid! So now our living room has turned into a play zone. Micah is NOT happy that he can't follow me into the kitchen. (He has not made it to the kitchen, but he has gotten too close.)

No Sick Leave For Mama

I have been sick for the past two weeks, and I'm still recovering. This is my first time being sick since the birth of the boys, and so are they. I still get up every morning at the crack of dawn and take care of my babies as usual. Their schedule doesn't change just because mommy is sick. It's been a long painful two weeks. Thankfully, they're on good behavior even though they're not feeling well. Of course, as soon as I'm feeling better, they're whining, whining, and more whining. I'm not complaining; they're good babies, and cute. Haha~

Roll Over

The boys rolled over once about a month ago and that was it. There were times that they almost got it. This morning I found Micah in his crib, twisted like a pretzel,. He finally figured it out later this morning how to move his arm so he can complete his turn. It was so cool to watch Elias rolls from his tummy to his back, and Micah rolls from his back to his tummy. =)

Boy...It's been more than 2 months since I updated on the babies. Internet was down in my building for 5 weeks! After that, I was used to not having internet.

Many things have happened since then...

-Elias and Micah will "talk" to each other now.
-They found their arms and feet and were mesmerized by them.
-Elias learned to splash during bath time.
-They both rowed over from tummy to back last week, but haven't done it since...so weird.
-They are much more talkative, and they're able to grab toys (holding on to them is another story though)

Oh, they're just so cute =P

What a Week!

Doctors Visit:
The boys are growing like weeds! They were at their 2 months check up this Tuesday (9 weeks old). Elias weighted 11lbs 2 oz! Micah weighted 10lbs 5.5oz.

Micah went back to the ENT doctor on 2/27. Got scooped again =( But the doc said he's doing good. The swelling is down, and the muscles are closing well. His med is down to every other day until it's done. He does have to go back for another follow-up.

Development:
They had their first smiles over the weekend. Totally melted my heart =) I CRIED!
2/29: Elias first smiled
3/1: Micah first smiled
Since then, they're much more interactive and smile at you when you talked to them. Preston's very word: "Cuteness overload!"

The boys had a really good day yesterday. Didn't give their mommy much trouble during the day. Boy, and didn't they have a good night. Micah had two good stretches of sleep, and Elias slept through the night (well, I was nursing Micah and didn't get to him right the way; he fall back asleep and slept till the morning!)

Two Months Into Parenthood

OMG....my babies are going to be two months old tomorrow. I have mixed feeling about this. A part of me is sad that they're growing up so fast; another part of me is so happy that they're two months old = soon they'll sleep through the night (you can't blame any parents for wanting that).

It has been good a about a week, then all the sudden, two days ago, they're crying almost very waking moments unless they're being held. I have only two hands, and there are two of them. Even if i tried holding the two of them together, they still don't like it. I'm so glad it's weekend (Preston is home to help out). thank God

Feeding the babies

Nursing has been difficult now that they're a bit older and have bigger appetites. I had a major melt-down yesterday. The whole nursing thing is getting really frustrated and leaves me with very little sleep. I finally learned to accept that it's okay to supplement with formula (even though I have been, I didn't really want to). Today, everyone is happier. They're full and I'm more rested. I enjoyed them much more when I'm rested. Hopefully, it will continue to be this way until they can sleep through the night.

Micah's Trip to the Otolaryngologist

Micah went back to the ENT for a follow-up yesterday. He got scoped again...that poor baby! His condition has improved, but not as well as the doctor would like to see. So we're going back in another month.

I don't know how to explain it well, but the structures/muscles above his voice box is narrow, but it doesn't collapse like it did when he was born. He believes give him some time, he should grow out of it. The esophagus is still a bit swollen, but it no longer has that redness. He still need to condition his medication to see if the condition will improve. I don't know if it makes sense.

Elias was fussy and wouldn't sleep while his brother and I were away. He seems to be calmer with Micah around. Maybe I should test it out again. hehe~

1 month old

It's been almost a month now since I updated. The boys are now just over a month old =)
Elias is now 8lbs 4oz and Micah is 7lbs 10oz. They're getting so chubby!

Micah came home on 1/3. He was so good in the hospital even the nurses and doctors were poking him with needles and inserting tubes into his nose. We thought Elias will be the difficult baby...were we wrong or what?!? Micah is the cry baby. Actually, he goes right to screaming and skips the crying. Elias calmed down since Micah came home.

The nursing has been difficult. I got myself two little golden piggies (Chinese Zodiac year for 2007), and they sure live up to it. They eat so much for their age. I'm still trying to feed to exclusively on breast milk, but I'm not making enough. I don't think I'm eating and drinking enough. I supposed to eat extra 400-500 calories PER BABY! I don't even eat that much during pregnancy. Now I'm so tired all the time, I lost all appetite.

They're so cute though. I promise to post picture soonPublish Post. Preston has the computer on LINUS and I have no idea how to find the pictures =P

Update on baby Elias and baby Micah

It's been a week since we came home from the hospital. Elias is really draining me out. As you may know, I LOVE and NEED my sleep. He won't wake up when it's feeding time; when it's time to sleep, he's wild awake, which makes everything just that much harder and longer. By the time he's settled down, his next feeding time it's only an hour away. But praise God He's listening to our prayers; he was doing better last night. I hope it will continue, so I can get some rest.

As for Micah, he had another episode two nights ago during his sleep, which was more dangerous than feeding time. So it's another 5-7 days from his last episode before he can come home (if he's episode free during the observation time.) Please continue to keep him in your prayers. I'm really sad and going nuts at this point because i was expecting him to come home either tomorrow or Friday; but I know it's better that it happened at the hospital than at home.
